Issues must be considered global, but their approaches and solutions must be addressed and solved starting from local aspects. The current report by Stefan et al. is a very good example of such philosophy showing the issues and the possible strategies, the concerns of the health community, the efforts of the NGOs, in particular the one of Vittorio Tison at Mwanza (Tanzania), and the crucial role of Scientific organizations as AORTIC.
