HCC patients were detected with elevated PIVKA-II and AFP levels. a The mean level of PIVKA-II level in HCC patients, CHB related cirrhosis patients and non-cirrhosis CHB patients was 79.64 ± 149.88, 25.29 ± 6.31 and 23.48 ± 6.71, respectively (P < 0.001). b A similar trend was found in serum AFP level among the three groups. The mean level of AFP level in HCC patients, CHB related cirrhosis patients and non-cirrhosis CHB patients was 148.62 ± 303.99, 15.16 ± 7.06 and 8.27 ± 6.03, respectively (P < 0.001)
