Growth inhibition of piperine on H. pylori strains. A) 60190; B) NCTC 11637; C) Tx30a. The growth inhibition was determined by the broth macrodilution method. Piperine concentrations from 3.9 μM to 250 μM were used in this growth inhibition assay compared to DMSO-treated control. Growth inhibition is expressed as optical density and 125 μM concentration of piperine shows minimal inhibitory concentration on H. pylori growth. The image is representative of three independent experiments and bars represent means ± SEM.
